Enjoying Spring and Sewing!

This is me enjoying an old rose bush that is blooming. It is an old rambling rose. Just behind me are raspberry bushes -so much new growth! I'm hoping for more raspberries this year. Last year, I got about 5:-(.

Check out some of my gorgeous poppies! I was hoping this one would be purple, however pink is just divine!

I've been busy sewing. I've made a few lavender bags for Christmas -filling them with lavender from Beth's gorgeous herb garden. Bethy (gorgeous teenaged daughter of 3) has also made some little lavender bags, a cushion cover and some book organiser/covers. She is a whizz on the sewing machine!

 Here is my messy sewing area (aka, dining room table).

I just love these lambs ears with dew sparkling on them. The native geranium underneath has little pink flowers.

Meg Rose is blooming. I love it!

Blossoms and Buds!

Zephine Druine rose bush is budding and blooming. It is divine.

Lemon thyme is also flowering. I didn't realise what gorgeous little pink flowers it has.

Every day the garden is revealing new little treasures. What a glorious time of the year. The smell of the jasmine is intoxicating. What a gorgeous awakening into Spring.

Birdie nest, Lake George, Pink crochet Hat!

We went for a drive and drove past Lake George. When I was young this lake was always full of water. It has been dry for a few years now. There were a few spots of water though.While hubby was busy doing more pruning, he found this gorgeous birdie nest. I think it belongs to "Bluey" whom I watch all the time, a wren fluttering in and out of the honey suckle with his family of birdies.The nest is right where hubby is.Check out this great head I bought from Lincraft! Perfect for the adult sized hats I make. The tam is one I made last year for Lulu, with bobbles on in purple. I'm currently knitting the same pattern in green wool.

Here is yet another hat in angora/bamboo. I'm not happy with it. The shape is too bucket like. I'm going to re-do it in more of a round shape, then add a crocheted flower or two.
I've been reading some amazing blogs lately and added some to my list. There are so many inspiring people out there in blogland!

Pruning roses and boy beanie!

This is my gorgeous hubby giving a crazy, out-of-control climbing rose a severe chop! We did the back yard today, but we still have the huge climbers at the front to do. The Pierre de Ronsardts, Cecile Brunners and the massively prickly "Meg" which has now grown over the top of our house need a big prune!

I finished crocheting the little beanie for my friend who had a little boy "Oliver". The bottom is in navy -bit hard to see. I hope it fits. It is simple dc crochet -no pattern. I call it intuitive crochet! :-) I'm starting a new little hat for another bubba tomorrow in bamboo/angora, with a frill. I'm still also going on the bobbled tam. It is looking pretty cute!
