Enjoying Spring and Sewing!

This is me enjoying an old rose bush that is blooming. It is an old rambling rose. Just behind me are raspberry bushes -so much new growth! I'm hoping for more raspberries this year. Last year, I got about 5:-(.

Check out some of my gorgeous poppies! I was hoping this one would be purple, however pink is just divine!

I've been busy sewing. I've made a few lavender bags for Christmas -filling them with lavender from Beth's gorgeous herb garden. Bethy (gorgeous teenaged daughter of 3) has also made some little lavender bags, a cushion cover and some book organiser/covers. She is a whizz on the sewing machine!

 Here is my messy sewing area (aka, dining room table).

I just love these lambs ears with dew sparkling on them. The native geranium underneath has little pink flowers.

Meg Rose is blooming. I love it!

daleks, sewing and slippers!

Oh my goodness, yes, I've got the sewing machine out again. I bought some simple fabrics to have a play with. Lovely!I just whipped up these little slippers too. My own design -needs a bit of work, but hey, they are comfy. And I'mstill going on those grannies for the bag! I'm waiting for a parcel with some heirloom wool in dark green that I bought on-line.

Plus, on the weekend we took the girls to the Science festival and saw Daleks. The girls were very excited, but my hubby was ecstatic! We love Dr. Who. It was so fun. Hubby met his favourite author, Matthew Riley and my eldest Lucy met her favourite author Jack Heath. I've never seen her "speechless" before. She got her books signed, and giggled a lot and blushed! She wants to be an author and has actually written a novel already. She is 14yrs old. My twins were happy enough taking photos of daleks!
