Wet, wet, wet!

Look at this! The stream near our house broke it's  banks well and truly. We are having a huge amount of rain here at the moment! There are floods all over New South Wales! The garden is loving it though!

I just love the feather/fan pattern. I'm going ok -the armholes were a bit tricky! I 'm loving the wool and the pattern!

Yes, another hat! I made this for a friend who's bubba is turning one next weekend, only this one is a bit small so I'm knitting a bigger one. I just crochet with no pattern and thought I'd do the same with knitting -only it is much more complicated when decreasing the crown!

This is it so far. I think maybe I should stick to crocheting the hats? I hope the sun is out where-ever you may be!

Busy crocheting, cooking and loving the garden.

Look at this gorgeous wool! I've crocheted a small adult hat in a beautiful Aussie wool. I just love how the colours form stripes. It is warm and not scratchy. I'm going to make a few more in different sizes.

I also started crocheting the back of a sleeveless-type cardi (my own design), so it is kind of developing as I go. Lovely yarn from Cleckheaton (really thick, maby 12ply).

This is a delicious soup I made for the girls -cauliflower and potato soup -thick and creamy with avocado on muffins. This was such a yummy and healthy soup. I love making warm soups in Winter. I love it even more when my teenaged daughters eat it all up in one sitting!

Here are some flowers from my garden, which at the moment is stunningly bare. I love the dots of colour of the budding jonquils though -Spring will come! I am sowing seeds of delphiniums this week and I threw lots of purple poppy seeds around the garden yesterday that I had kept from last Summer! I am planning to have heaps of delphiniums this year. Usually the snails get them as seedlings, but I am determined this year to beat the snails! I adore poppy pods. The purple poppies last year were absolutely gorgeous!

Dark Green Bobbled Tam Finished!

My dark green bobbled tam is finally finished. Here it is on my new foam head. I'll get one of the teenaged drama queens in the family to model it so I can get a better shot, in better light -tomorrow. It is a pretty tam. I love it. I might wear it to soccer when watching the girls play in minus zero temperatures!

Yes, I can't stop! Baby hats everywhere! Is this a compulsive obsession? Yes,probably. I'm thinking of selling them at the markets. I have a huge box of them in the cupboard! Plus heaps of crocheted flower clips and brooches I've made!

Look what I found in the front garden! White jonquils! My favourites! Spring is truly on her way and I can't wait! I hope the sun is shining where-ever you are!
