I have started on the lace border of Nancy Bush's madlis-shawl. I am knitting with a dark green Cascade Lace this time, which is alpaca. I'm already noticing the difference in elasticity to the merino lace. It will be interesting to see the difference blocking too! I know, I was going to start a whole variety of different knitting projects, but I just can't help it, I LOVE Estonian shawls and the Madli is just so exquisite! The nupps will probably drive me crazy, but I just adore that twig pattern!:-)
The vegie patch is sprouting! Chives, leeks and beetroots, as well as peas and rocket!
This is the hat I made with the Madeline Tosh wool. It is really stretchy and very warm! I just love the colour!Go to Kirstie's for more creative stuff!:-)

Wooohoo! I'm back on track and I'm happy with my nupps! This pattern is really developing into a love-hate relationship! I'm doing ok though and loving the wool!:-)
Look at these nupps! I think I am slowly getting the hang of them! They are the little lumpy things on the left like Lily of the Valley.

Oh my gosh! What a dilemma. The wool I started this lace scarf in ended up being too hairy and you couldn't see the actual lace, so I dashed off to Lincraft and bought some very basic baby wool. Hopefully this will work better. I'm looking at this as a "practice piece", not a masterpiece! My first attempt at the nupps are very dodgy, but I think I'm getting the hang of them now. I love the word nupp. It is Estonian for the little bobble stitch that resembles "May Bells" or Lily of the Valley flowers. I just love the look of them!
Look how wobbly and dodgy my lace is. I understand it will take shape at the end when blocked, but it sure looks very sad right now! I have made mistakes, but I've decided this is very much a practice piece -so when my Nancy Bush book on Estonian Lace arrives from U.S(I am trying to be patient), I will be ready to tackle a shawl -maybe.
